Life After Graduation

As you can probably tell from my username, I come from a target school but feel like I messed up. I am a double major in Math and Econ with a high GPA (3.8+) but failed to break into IB. Did not get any of the "good" internships I applied to and had to settle for some random position at a low-tier bank (to be honest I do not care about the prestige of the bank, I just want experience). I know it stems from the fact that I did not network as well as I should have. A lot of my parents friends are high up in some banks and when I reached out to them they said that if I get experience then they will give me a shot, but I can't land any of these positions. I'll get some interviews, and then fold on my technicals. My past internship has some openings in Trade Management and at this point that looks like my only job opportunity period. I'm not going to give up on IB though, but I feel hopeless right now. I talked to my parents and a CIO at a PE firm and they recommended taking the Trade Management role and also doing two semesters at a community college to make sure my technicals are flawless. Is that worth it? If not, what are my other options? Again, I do not care about the name or anything, I just want the experience.

Appreciate that advice. I for sure underestimated the networking aspect and did not really have a plan, so I'm grateful for any advice I can get. Also, yeah you're right I have to put everything in perspective.
