MBB to PE: what’s the process like?

tldr: what’s the MBB to PE interview process like?

I’ve seen some WSO content on going from MBB to PE and the concensus seems to be that MBB to PE is possible. However, there doesn’t seem to be much content on WSO regarding the actual interview process from MBB to PE. I’m curious what it’s like and how (if at all) it differs from the IB to PE process. Especially with IB to PE recruiting happening so much earlier than in the past, have comparable changes happened with the MBB to PE process? Mainly curious about the process for PE deal teams (most comparable to IB to PE) but would love to hear any input regarding PE ops teams as well.
