Private Equity Summer Analyst Positions
hey guys, i was wondering if anyone had a list of the MF PE firms that summer analysts (junior summer). i've seen summers at blackstone, KKR, and bain capital and i'm wondering if other firms have similar programs. i would also love to hear the types of interview questions the firms ask and how their interview processes are different from banking processes. thanks!
Firms with SA - Blackstone, KKR, Bain, Ares, Vista, Brookfield (maybe?) BDT, GTCR
Firms with FT - All of the above + WP, Francisco
GE/VC - GA, Insight, Bessemer, Battery
1) PE firms that take summers:
2) PE interview process:
The difficulty is on-par with boutique banking interviews. On top of the normal EB questions (merger math, etc) expect lots of paper LBOs, understand what factors impact an LBO the most, know basic MOIC to IRR conversions (ie 2x MOIC over 5 years = 15% IRR), and be ready to talk about why you want to do PE over banking. The process won't be much harder than a highly competitive boutique bank. I've seen a decent amount of questions asked by Fransisco Partners, Vista, BX, and KKR on overlevered.com, which I'm sure you'd find helpful. Good luck
Did Silver Lake cancel their program? Or are they moving to FT only like WP
Unsure, I thought they had both
I thought they cancelled both SA and analyst programs as of this year, all their 2023 SAs did not get return offers, BX ended up taking some of them.
There's at least one junior SA from Penn.
silverlake looks like it has a sophomore summer program but slashed their junior summer to FT analyst program
