Some banks are kicking off target recruiting in the next couple months, don’t be discouraged. I would bet you’ll hear back sometime in the spring or closer to the summer

“If you ain’t first, you’re last!” - GOAT

“diversity students” hahaha. You mean non-white? I mean I appreciate the covertness but let’s be fuckin honest here haha.

Not really.. unless they’re quants lmao.

Fuck could you imagine getting hired through a ‘diversity program’.. kind of puts an asterisk beside ur name.

Wait..Banks actually have a hiring class based on ethnicity? So since Im black& Asian...am I automatically considered a diverse hire?...which places me in a predetermined class marked as "getting lucky"...? Do these banks give me a specific lunch table and bathroom also, because that would be dope.

I hope you two retards realize once the job starts nobody gives a shi or knows who got hired through what pipeline. It's about your performance in the bullpen and that's it. The funny thing about you two bitching about diversity programs is that these events are half filled with white kids that claimed hispanic descent or that one of their grandparents were african.

There is no fact checking. For the most part, it's just a way for banks to hire early to retain top talent. Half of these programs don't have the "black/hispanic" requirement and simply want you to apply with diversity in mind.. lmao. If you couldn't figure that out on your own it's no wonder you're still job searching.

Imagine thinking you're fit to work at one of these firms when you have the maturity of a bitter 11 year old who couldn't get into the bean bag boys club. Demeriting others does nothing except make you look like a fool, and the funny thing is, after my summer I noticed that it was the "diversity" cointerns that worked the hardest and put out the best product. Must speak to something about the difference in culture/upbringing.. Being haters and openly bigoted is going to take you nowhere.

I promise you nobody looks at someone female or non-white and thinks "they must've gotten in through the diversity programs"

-A white guy raised by two "diversity" parents that had no trouble recruiting non-diversity :-)

Funniest

I love how we have deteriorated from MLK preaching to not hire someone based on the colour of their skin to literally hiring someone based on the colour of their skin lmao.

It's kind of interesting how you are making this point considering RBC has a sophomore IBD internship program but it's diversity only. Idk how these programs help in the long run since most people only stick for 2-3 years in IBD, would be interesting if anyone has an idea.

I have an interview for Quantitative Trading and Research SA at the end of July. This is a make-up though, my original Super Day was scheduled for the end of May.

Can you guys give me an approximate time line on RBC for this year? Rising sophmore and don't want to miss the deadlines for next year. The kids I heard about I don't actually know them personally so can't ask.

I had a superday there which also answers @gwtw1836" questions. I did an OCR first round around April, got a superday invite within a week, picked a date, made travel plans, and heard back within a week about the offer.

I had my first round interview March 22nd and then a superday on April 18th for Capital Markets Origination (CMO). On April 23rd, I had another first round interview for CMO, but this time for ECM. I got an offer for FICC Origination on April 24th so couldn't proceed further with ECM. FICC Origination covers a few groups such as Risk Solutions, DCM and others but DCM takes the majority of interns. They gave me a month to sign and I accepted the offer on May 21st. Also, I know my friend had a superday for IB M&A on May 21st, but didn't receive an offer. As far as I know, they are nearly finished with 2020 recruiting if not already. Hope this helps.

They're done with S&T and IB according to a VP I spoke to, CB has pushed back the process and will interview in August

Know plenty of international interns right now I don’t know about FT offers tho or if it affects your chances

They've been open since August, but they didn't start first rounds until April. All of the spots are filled and that's what matters

I tried to lol. But as a nontarget couldn't leverage my offer very well and only got another offer at jefferies and chose RBC over them.

Anyone heard anything with regards to Covid-19? I'm in the London SA program and while it's still not decided, it seems from the emails that it will be a virtual internship. However, I am curious about FT offers, where for example Citi extended offers to their whole SA cohort. Has anyone heard about anything similar at RBC?
