Search fund internship questions
Just finished my freshman year and I do not have an internship for this summer.
I am considering emailing a bunch of search funds to see if one could take me on board as a remote unpaid intern for this summer, but I just had a few questions about them before I start trying to offer free help.
What does the time commitment usually look like? Can it be flexible? I'm working about 50 hours a week this summer, and taking a few trips across the US.
If I started emailing now, how long would it take before I am officially "on board"?
How much would this help me to get an internship that is more relevant to IB for my sophomore summer?
I was thinking about deferring this to during my sophomore year, but I feel like I would be more likely to get an internship via networking if I already have experience.
Thank you

Hi, what did you end up doing? I'm interested in working at a search fund this summer but I'm unsure where to look/how to apply.
why do you wanna work for a search fund lol? is it paid
I'm a freshman and I'm looking for any relevant finance experience I can get at this point in time.
I did end up taking an unpaid remote internship at a search fund. Got decent experience to modelling, industry analysis, thesis generation, etc. Overall was not good considering I wasn't getting paid for doing mindless data entry for 10 hours a week. You can go on searchfunder.com or searchfunds.net and just email the principals to each one asking about internships, most don't seem to care about what school you go to as long as you can punch names and emails into excel.
I think it's a decent thing to have on your resume if you go to a non target like me.
