Urgently need career advice; trapped in Canada, middle-aged with no skill set

Male, 38 years old, Canadian citizen, immigrant background (came here as a kid), living in suburban Toronto. I wasted my entire youth. Never finished college (was in math and economics). Worked in manufacturing and retail for years, then with the immigration explosion and economic devastation under Trudeau I became long-term unemployed.

I really hate Canada so extremely much. I wish I had never set foot here. I can't believe what a hopeless hellhole this country has become. All fields are supersaturated with sky-high unemployment. There's insane over-competition even to become a kitchen helper or gas station cashier. Housing costs an absolute fortune. Wages are stagnant and awful, haven't budged in over a decade while rent and prices have doubled. Taxes and the cost of living are infuriating. Infrastructure and public transit are shockingly bad. Politicians are all useless, crooked liars eager to put us in hell to get their kickbacks.

Everything has FALLEN APART!!! It's driving me crazy.

Yet the corrupt and captured government is hellbound on flooding us with immigrants and cheap labor no matter what. All it cares about is adding taxpayers, consumers and voters, growing total GDP, and pleasing the oligarchic business lobbies. It doesn't give a spit about the average standard of living or any kind of per-capita development. We're taking 4 times more immigration per capita than the US. We are a doomed nation.

There's absolutely no future for me here. I'll never make any real money, I'll never escape poverty, I'll never own a home or start a family. Even renting a studio apartment is out of reach. I'll be living with family or roommates forever.

Psychologically I'm not doing well.

I need advice about how to get out of this situation. I'm smart and academically inclined; college just didn't work out in the past because of circumstances. I have no interest in learning a trade. That's at least 5 more years I have to spend here, and apprenticeships are extremely hard to get nowadays because of the out-of-control demographics. Healthcare doesn't appeal to me either.

I want to start a new life. I'm DESPERATE To leave Canada. I wish I could go to the US.

East Asia was awesome too, but it's a place to work or visit and not to build a life. They don't really give you an option to settle there.

At my age, a lot of doors are closed. Most, even (medical school, law school, banking, tech, military, etc.). Despite this, if I go back to school, I know I can excel at whatever I put myself into. I'm great at writing, research, public speaking, languages. When I'm in my element, I'm the guy that everyone notices as an "expert" on the subject.

I believe I can put the past behind and make a completely new start — but I don't know HOW. I simply don't know what to do.

I'm trapped and I'm watching my whole life fly by. I badly need advice. Anything is much appreciated.
