What are my best options (aka how badly did I screw up)?
For reasons I can't go into because of privacy, I am an undergrad majoring in political science. However, I recently discovered that I enjoy finance and economics (yes I know vague but I don't want to divulge too much). Anyways, since I'm already a third year and only got interested in finance my second year, I only have been able to add an economics minor. I also work for a professor at my school's econ department. I do basic research (lots of grunt work but I've worked for him for 1.5 years) on historical M&A activity. With a minor in econ, do I have any chance of just getting my foot in the door? If I want (although it will be hard financially) I can stay five year and get my major in economics. Should I do this or just stick wit the econ minor? I plan on getting an MBA after and just wanna get a job after college. Since I know poli sci is pretty much useless thats why Im concerned.
I know I screwed up and I want people to be totally honest about how deep S^*t I'm in.
Thanks!
Do you think you can get a job at the fed, the SEC or some other semi finance related gov't institution? Might be something to look into.
It's a college major, man... just take some relevant coursework and bust out some great stuff under the econ professor. As long as you're passionate about the field and have a great GPA, you're fine.
