Also, recruiting is pretty good at NYU Stern and at schools like NYU, Indiana, Maryland, etc. absolutely need a way to separate the business kids from the general population. Like if Harvard had an undergrad b-school it wouldn't have any functional difference in prestige from the rest of Harvard but the difference between Stern and general NYU is quite profound.
But given their exposure to business courses, why do they(NYU Stern students) still not have a distinct advantage over Harvard students who majored purely in engineering et cetera? Does this mean prestige+an economics (or more difficult) major probably trumps an education in finance/accounting in a less prestigious school most of the time?
I know NYU Stern kids are pretty good by the way, since I was accepted to it by the way, as a cross-admit to an Ivy school(not Cornell) and opted for the other option, and majored in economics and philosophy.

Because business is a vocational major and all the kids at these schools are smart enough to learn it without majoring in it.
