I don’t think they’re bad ppl. I really don’t but it would mean a lot to me if they talked about other stuff other than the usual.
I feel like every time I try to give my opinion on something that we’ve never talked about they just don’t care. It gets hard to open up and talk about my feelings because I’m the one that’s always happy and positive and making everyone laugh so they just assume that everything’s ok when in reality everything sucks.
Perhaps they aren’t bad people, but they might be shallow and just uninterested in the topics you want to talk about. On the other hand, they just may not care all that much about you and don’t really care if you're exhausted. If you can have a more meaningful conversation with some stranger on WSO of all places then maybe you do need to find some more friends.
I’ll tell you what I told you on the other thread, talk to a professional if you need to, you can vent and they’ll actually be able to help you.

I guess I’ll bite here... I mean this is a very loaded ask. You are basically asking for friends who share the exact same interests as you, but with friends in general, that is not always the case. If I were you, I would talk to my longest, closest friends about what I want to talk to and see how they treat it. If they were catatonic towards it, then I would maybe find new friends—NOT AT ALL saying to discard your current friends, but rather just grow your circle. Find ways to meet people that share your interests.
If your current friends are good people, keep them close and hold on to them tight. Because it really really really suck when they’re gone... My best friend of like forever died relatively recently—so I’m qualified in this department lowkey. That shit matters a lot. But adding never hurt, and finding people who share your interest more closely is definitely possible and not a bad thing at all. It’s always good to expand your horizons. But if you are feeling genuinely depressed per your recent posts, maybe seek professional help rather than help from a board of finance bros. I hope this helps, your situation seems kinda tough, but I’m sure you can get out of it. I hope this is helpful.. Lots of people are always happy to talk :)
Sounds like you don't have a great group of friends. I would start looking to meet new people and potentially break away from this friend group.
People who get into finance are quite narcissistic and career oriented which already is a problem regarding the listening part and discussing about interesting topics. If your friends and social circles are from this industry or are professionals in Manhattan, bad news.
As someone already pointed out, get into a relationship with a partner whom is a good listener. Also, get into different clubs or activities where you could expect to meet more down to earth individuals with whom you can discuss more trivial and mundane topics and form new friendships.
Corporate America is very hypocrite. I would not expect someone to genuinely care about anyone else. Every friendship and interaction made seems to be meticulously calculated, so this is not the best place to satisfy one's social needs.
