Biden is cooked lol

Well, the debate exposed everyone to Biden's mental decline and a more stable Trump. CNN, MSNBC, the Democrat establishment, in full panic mode. Will Biden be replaced? It will be hard. Many Democrats will be unsatisfied by the replacement because Biden could've dropped out months ago and let voters decide the next candidate. But this is a testament to Biden's ego. He wouldn't allow him to be replaced. This has interesting implications because RFK is in the mix. Bring in your thoughts.

It was a dogshit debate performance, but he gave a rally right after and sounded fine.

The MS you have accumulated in the past 24 hours is amazing.

Oh yeah he did much better with a teleprompter and without being asked questions.

A “rally” and a debate aren’t comparable.

Sorry had to come back to this post......so he had a bad night eh?

Really couldn't have asked for a better performance other than Biden getting more time to talk. He dug his own grave and fell in perfectly just like he's been practicing.

40/44 of Trump’s former cabinet members have refused to support his current bid. The people he will put in charge of major arms of government are going to be morons and grifters.

For a website that supposedly cares about prestige and going to the best schools and working for the best firms, the posters here are suspiciously ok with the intellectual dregs of society actually running government as Trump golfs.

And that's a very good sign, we know Trump was absolutely unprepared to tackle any serious swamp draining in 2016 and he hired DC Establishment Skunks....it's good to see the 4 America First loyalists are now properly vetted for round 2. I would guess Navarro, Flynn, Bannon, Kash Patel and a few others will be gearing up to return to the Swamp for battle.

Biden was bad in the debate, but Trump didn't answer a single question coherently, avoided most follow-ups, and kept rambling on for no reason. Both are old, and both are unfit to run for president; however, away from the major policies everybody knows about, Biden can build a team around him to support himself, and Trump's team is like the most dysfunctional family you have ever seen. Tough but easy choice at the same time.

Trump has absolutely no interest in the United States and its principles.  Everything is rigged if he does not get his way.  He does not like free elections unless he wins; he does not like the judicial system unless he wins: he does not like the media unless they say nice things about him etc.  He is POS who deserves respect from no one.

Trump is running as a way to keep from dying in prison. Which is where he will end up if he loses.

“Yeah, sure, I’m going to vote for Trump because Biden isn’t as sharp as he used to be” — said no one ever.

the debates change the mind of between 0 & 1% of of registered dem/rep voters. this is just more fodder for what everyone's been saying for a while

*yawn*

the best thing Biden did last night was cover up for an even worse performance, Rodon's pitching. HOLY MOLY LETS GO ORIOLESSSSSSS

We are in agreement regarding hatred towards the Yankees.  Hopefully the Orioles can take care of business like the Mets did recently

Reagan's first debate back in the ol' days was poor... and he bounced back in the second debate to get reelected

Obama's first debate against Romney was a disaster... and he bounced back to destroy Romney in the second debate to get reelected.

Biden had the worst first debate performance in the history of presidential debates... TBD what happens in the second debate.

I don't think you guys are getting it.....

There is a difference between having a bad night and the country wondering if you are mentally capable to be president.

No, I think everyone gets it.

Half of the country would just rather vote for the inanimate corpse of my childhood dog over Trump.

Try to call out a bizzare part of his life (that doctors said can happen) because it makes him sound crazy. How about you actually refute his policy decisions and say why Biden would be a better President. People like you are why this country is so fucked. Biden and Trump both increased deficits by trillions and RFK is the only one who actually wants to fix that. You're on WSO, you should know better.

The reason the debate was scheduled so early in advance was so Biden or Trump could have a disastrous performance with plenty of time to recover from it.

I think both sides did dismally but the real loser is the American voter. It was like watching a drunk driver debate a narcoleptic. One was veering all over the road, and the other kept trying not to fall asleep at the wheel. Trump seemed like he was having a stroke and couldn’t string together a coherent sentence, and Biden was basically sleepwalking his way through a debate. The highlight was a dick-measuring contest over golf handicaps as a proxy for physical and mental health. I want president Camacho from Idiocracy. We deserve better.

From an outsider’s perspective:

- Biden is mentally unfit to be president. No ifs, no buts.
- Trump did make a lot of fabrications
- Despite the narrative that is being ruthlessly peddled to try and save face for the Democrats, not everything Trump said was a lie
- Biden also made a lot of fabrications
- Trump is very clearly a narcissist
- All politicians are narcissists, but perhaps Trump is more so than others

Based on all of this, it is downright negligent for anybody to vote for the Democrats in this election as things stand. You cannot, under any circumstances, have someone with Biden’s cognitive decline, in charge of the country. Not even if his main opponent is a (dubiously) convicted felon who cheats on his wife.

Does that mean you have to vote Republican? No. But you cannot vote Democrat.

I think we have it bad here in the U.K. politically but then I look across the pond and breathe a sigh of relief.

See, the thing about the American political system is that it has all of its citizens strapped with horse blinkers whilst hooked up to an IV drip of whataboutism. It has gotten notably worse over recent years with the proliferation of social media amplifying its effect.

You cannot possibly comprehend, digest and respond to the entire point that someone makes in a political discussion. Instead, you hone in on one minute detail and then throw back a “yeah but your candidate/party/country did X so how about them apples?”

It’s not your fault, mind. The bipartisan US government has trained you to be that way.

We are not talking about Brexit. If you want to debate that, start a thread on it. This is about Biden.

As I said, mental capacity trumps (no pun intended) everything else when it comes to appropriateness for this role. That includes criminal record, particularly when all politicians are without doubt crooks. To think otherwise is just insane, but I don’t think anyone truly does. People like yourself just put their hatred of one thing above their desire for something else. In your case (and the case of many of your compatriots), it is your hatred of Trump/Republicans over your desire for a government that can function appropriately across the nation and on the world stage.

You must have been drunk and stumbling out of a bar when you wrote the above incoherent non sense.  I might not be smart enough to diagnose what Biden has or does not have cognitively.  Based on what you wrote, you are certainly not smart enough to diagnose anything cognitive about Biden. Biden has a team around him to guide him though decisions.  This team would put the country ahead of his and their selfish interests. In contrast, Trump's number 1 priority is Trump's interests and it will continue to be Trump's interests.  He does not care about the interests of anyone else except himself.  A vote for Trump is a vote against the United States and its principles.

You’ve used a lot of words to essentially say a whole lot of nothing. Ironic that you’ve called my post incoherent; I’ve actually had a hard time trying to decipher what you’re trying to say.

If you think Biden is mentally sound enough to pour his own cereal for breakfast, let alone decide on national policy, you’re sorely mistaken and too far gone to convince otherwise.

Just to make it really clear: I’m not pro-Trump. I quite dislike him. Your choice is between him, who may nuke Russia out of political aggression, and Biden, who may nuke Russia because he mistakenly thought the big red button would turn on the TV. Again, as an outsider, I’d be betting all my money that the former is the safer option.

I’ll post my thoughts after Trump picks a VP.  Democrats don’t have to do anything publicly until after the RNC convention which is on July 15.

Will never happen but Biden needs to resign. Kamala Harris becomes President now and has to run. Open it up to other candidates to defeat her at the convention. It's really the only way to move past this.

But...it won't happen. Biden will not do the Patriotic thing and step aside.

Why won’t Trump do the patriotic thing and step aside after his felony conviction? Imagine how much better the country would be with a civilized and principled conservative party and not a bunch of dorky wanna be fascists?

But…it won’t happen. Trump will never do the patriotic thing and step aside because Trump would never put the country’s interests ahead of his own.
