You are also ranking yourself on an arbitrary metric as 'top'. If you made top .01% income are you better off than someone who is top .01% in:

- freedom? Aka ability to do the things they want to do

- social life? Having a broad network of friends, family, supporting one another

- health? What does your longevity look like on this planet?

- fitness? Can your body do things that allow you to truly experience the world?

- talent and interests? How many languages do you know? What skills do you have?

- looks? Can you get interest from the opposite sex without mentioning your job or showing off your wallet?

Guessing someone who is so focused on being that top .01% earner isn't top .01% in any of the above. Probably not top 1%, or even 10%, in most. So are you really at the height of society, or just using pursuit of money as a coping mechanism for the gaping hole in your life
