Construction, what next?

To preface, I’ve been a lurker for almost five years now. I’m now entering my senior year of college in the fall and facing reality soon enough. I had an internship in finance/ money management and hated it personally. So I switched to something more hands on and tangible such as construction. However, with reality facing me down the money seems to not be here for me and the growth trajectory of my career compared to any other sector seems abysmal. I was hoping for any recommendation aside from “do what you love” and if at all, there is any plus to me trying to get an job in any thing IB or any of the rest. Appreciate anything.

Compliance isn’t too hard to break into, has decent long term pay, and is JD-advantage. An older alum from my fraternity got a compliance role at a bb late his senior year, and it helped him get into a very reputable law school that he’ll start soon. He was a bad student who majored in history. If this doesn’t appeal to you I hope it at least demonstrates that it’s not too late to find something excellent, if you’re patient and creative enough to come up with a long term plan

I agree. Personal story, I went to one of those overrated magnet high schools that made their students choose a major, and I was in law. Obviously, HS law classes are not comparable to college or real world... but I despised it for 4 years. I would not ever go into law.

However, I'd still tell the op to consider my advise-- even if it's not compliance, choose a role that you can have a long term plan for
