cornell hotel vs vanderbilt?
which do you guys think have better placement? or are they pretty much equal?

I would take Vanderbilt over Cornell AEM for so many reasons.
Vanderbilt would be the more enjoyable college experience but there is no arguing that Cornell places more analysts into IB. There have been a couple recent threads on here about target schools and how many are placing analysts into banking. Cornell was pretty high in the list, and definitely higher than Vandy. Also consider location preferences. If your goal is to work in NY, then take Cornell. If you'd prefer to work in the South, then take Vandy.
Cornell hotel if I was hiring someone for a Gambling & Entertainment vertical. A family friend of ours (owns a famous French chateau) sent his son to Cornell HA for their program, kid is getting offers left and right for top high $ hotels around the world.
No doubt that Cornell places better than Vanderbilt, especially in New York(you could do a linkedin search). However I would choose Vanderbilt between the two.
Vandy's placement has actually improved significantly in just the last two years. In the most recent SA class there were 2-3 kids at most BBs in nyc ibd, and 10 or 11 at baml in particular. Vandy's also core for top MMs like Jefferies, HL, Harris Williams, WF, etc.
I'd rather go to vandy, have fun, and maybe have to work a little harder to get into IB than go to cornell and not have fun
it's important to realize that i am talking about cornell hotel, not just cornell in general. Essentially a hotel management degree from ivy or econ degree from non-ivy but still very solid school
Cornell is fantastic and generally places very well into IB but I think being in the hotel school would make it an uphill battle. I've seen a few alums from the hotel school but the vast majority are from AEM, econ, or even ILR. How difficult is transferring between the schools? That would definitely make my decision for me. I'd much rather pick Cornell BC I think that they'll have better BB/EB recruiting but I wouldn't do it if it meant graduating from the hotel school.
And Vanderbilt is a fantastic school where you will no doubt have a great experience and also get OCR for IB as well. While they place in BBs every year, a lot of students end up at the top MMs (especially in the Southern offices). I don't go there so I have no idea if this is their own regional preference or whether they couldn't get a spot at a NYC BB. Difficult decision but I honestly don't think you can go wrong either way.
Not sure,but a quick search through linkedin, i see a lot of kids who go into IB end up in real estate IB
