Sometimes I see people leave the office for a long time and then they usually come back with some item or in some interesting way, which everyone then assumes is related to what they were doing.

For example: Coffee: this person probably grabbed coffee with someone for a while (perhaps a friend or maybe a recruiter) Candy / Snacks: this person went to the store and spent too long choosing what exactly he wanted to buy Brand-name store: looks like this person had no work to do or something so they decided to go shopping - they spend a lot of money on shopping, don't they? Nothing: I'm suspicious - where was this person for the last several hours? - do they not have any work to do?

You can tell I care way too much lol. Anyways, short answer is you should probably come in with something store-bought and people will assume you were just shopping or buying something from the store (better than thinking you were talking to a recruiter, right?). Also, tbh, people shouldn't care that much if you're gone for 30-40 mins. That's pretty normal for lunch honestly...

Lol this is hilarious. Another option is if you have a close connection with another person in the office like say another analyst and he/she knows what you are trying to do, then you can go talk to the recruiter and then tell your friend to walk up the office with you so it makes it look like you two were just catching up. Kind of hard to pull off but this will raise no alarms whatsoever.

This is actually good advice because low key, people are very tightly observing what everyone else is doing in the office, when, and why.

Be excellent to each other, and party on, dudes.
