Do I stand a chance of transferring to a target/semi-target?

I have a 3.74 GPA and 3.85 major gpa. I have a ton of units and would like to transfer to either Claremont, Cornell, or Northwestern to start in the Spring of '17. The only thing that may hold me back is that my SAT is absolutely horrible (Sub 1600) for those caliber of schools. I didn't apply myself because I had already decided on my state school and my hs grades were shit. Also does anyone know of any other targets accepting transfers for the spring semester? I don't really care about the whole "better education'' argument but do know from experience that Undergrad somewhat stays with you for awhile and targets have more access to top firms.

What program at Cornell are you wanting to transfer to? Cornell non-AEM seems to have decent placement at the banks, but AEM is the target at Cornell. Reason this might matter -- AEM only takes fall transfers. Can't speak on the other schools.

I believe it's program dependent. Some majors/schools at Cornell take spring people. But I believe AEM, which is probably what you're gunning for, only takes people that would enter sophomore fall.

AEM = Dyson School = UG Business program. Sorry for lack of specificity. Other schools maybe: Michigan Ross, NYU, and similar. Not familiar with specific transfer requirements or if they take any transfers. But they are solid programs and are probably doable.

I guess try to differentiate yourself in some way to drag eyes away from the SAT

From my experience I would look at west coast schools like USC or southern schools like UNC, UVA, or Georgetown, but Cornell AEM wants GPA, SAT and extracurriculars not that these others schools don't. I image Northwestern is even harder to get into than Cornell.

They just have a low transfer rate, also Cornell's transfer rate is inflated because they have a guaranteed admission program for CC students. Regardless, its a hard road. Are you already in a top 50 school or more top 100?
