what's your preference? train takes >40 minutes to get me to work and i really think about buying a car to save myself morning time for the gym. according to city mapper, a drive to and from work takes 15-20 minutes.
I live in London, so outside of work a car is impractical. lmk what you think

if you work in the City, driving to work is 1000% impractical.
A train is an hour each way for me and I hate it. It’s dirty and you have to be underground and you have to share it with people.
car: need to pay for parking and you may need to pay a congestion charge ?
I was going to say bike it but 40 mins on the train, you must be quite far out. if its 10-15 miles I'd consider cycling - get your workout out the way and get to work with a fresh mind, and obviously counts as a commute - you'd be surprised how easy 10,20,30 mile cycles are.
Up for this. Unless you have a reliable cheap car that you can daily drive and have not to repair it every year or month. Then yes. Then calculate your gas expense and vehicle tax and fees from there.
TL:DR just take the fucking tube or Uber. A honda civic or volks won't impress anyone.
My choice would either be an electric bike (so you don't arrive sweaty at the office) or a motorbike to filter between cars
Train 100%. I know talking heads who literally drive half way in to take the train, but the tunnel toll is pushing $20 then parking at work is north of $50 per day. My car is purely for getting out into the country.
I mostly work from home but I were to commute, I would prefer the train because you can get some work accomplished.
Train is 1000x better. I’ll gripe when it’s late, or dirty, or when someone asks for money, but I’ve done 45-minute daily commutes via train and via car in multiple cities and will pick train every time
