Evan McMullin today launched an Anti-Trump conservative Republican bid. His resume is stacked, between Chief Policy Director, Banker at GS, and the CIA, but he's definitely a relative unknown.

I need to dig into his issues a bit more, but he's supposed to be a far more traditional conservative. He's going to be targeting only 20-30 states as well, so it is 0% a campaign to get elected and 100% a campaign to stop Trump.
I wonder too how much this will conflict with Gary Johnson and the Libertarian Party's attempt to get above the 15% debate threshold.

I don't think it's necessary to be honest - don't polls already have Clinton winning by a large margin?
Could be a name recognition thing. Give a couple of anti-Trump speeches and interviews, win a couple percentage points in November (or win Utah? He's Mormon and Utah is very Anti-Trump), and then translate that into a successful Congressional or Senate run or getting his name in the primaries in 2020.
I'm reading that it also could be a start before he runs a campaign to become the new director of the RNC.
