Learning how to code and building a functional, scalable mobile app are not the same. If you ever actually used your CS degree in industry, you would realize how compartmentalized these teams are. You got back-end, front-end, UI/UX designers, data guys, Infosec guys etc. I also went to a “top target” (cringe ass terminology, grow up) for CS and worked in industry at a high growth startup. And yeah, I work in AM at a top buyside firm as a research analyst. What do you do, rearrange slide decks and wait for your associate to bitch you at 1AM? Humble yourself kid.

OP, if this is related to a business idea, I would highly suggest finding a competent CTO, especially if you plan on obtaining equity investments. No VC will take you seriously as a non-technical CEO without a CTO. If this is just for a Shopify store, I would weigh the benefits and costs of developing a mobile app. I don’t think a mobile app is really necessary in this instance but you know more about your idea than I do. If you really need this app done, I would suggest scouting firms on toptal, upwork, turing etc, read reviews/check portfolio, feel them out during consultation, field quotes. Just remember that once they hand it off, you will need someone for maintenance and updates.
