Indiana/Villanova/Fordham/Rutgers for IB

WSO family, how's it going?

My little brother just got all his acceptances in and I was wondering what your thoughts are on the following for IB. Here are the final acceptances/stats:

1.) Indiana (Direct Admit to Kelley) - No scholarship/money given
2.) Villanova - No scholarship/money given
3.) Fordham - $22k/year scholarship
4.) Rutgers - Full ride

He's interested in banking, but parents are not looking to go into massive debt. Let me know what you guys think as I went to a non-target and can't really speak on the choices above.

Thanks a ton.

Just based on Wall Street placement, this is my ranking of those 4 on what I've seen from my friends at those schools and people at my internships:

  1. Fordham (very good presence on the street)
  2. Villanova (decent UG business school--top 20, only know a few people all in MO/BO roles)
  3. Indiana Kelley (limited presence mostly in IB and RE)
  4. Rutgers (very little and mostly BO positions)

Of course other people probably know more, but there's a very strong Fordham presence on Wall Street. I've spoken to a few Fordham kids who say to get IB roles you have to be a top performer with a high GPA, etc.. but they have some recruiting so it's not a non-target.

Honestly though don't just pick on placement. It'll be a long 4 years otherwise.

Villanova or Indiana. I dont know why the guy above thinks Fordham has a good presence. Fordham places people in BO, MO and big 4 not FO! Of course there will be typical 3 or 4 guys breaking into FO from Fordham or that have moved from BO to FO but they are not actively recruited by BB for FO.

Indiana and it's not even close. They have a great IB workshop and place extremely well. If you're willing to work hard, you'll get a great offer out of Kelley.

Nice guys may not finish last but they sure don't finish first. Loyalty is not rewarded, it's taken advantage of.
