Just broke off with my GF - Felt Amazing

So we were together for about 1.5 years.

She is currently in her final year of med school so has been really busy since we met/were together. She has dated finance bros (mostly bankers) before and broke up with them due to them not being able to spend time/attention she needed. I believe it is a common reason for us apes.

She is much bigger (wider) than her Bumble pics and has a big ego. Understandable that weight fluctuates from pics but there was a significant difference here. I would say catfished. But I looked the other way in hopes of it working out long term.

So I am getting to that stage in my career where hours are better and am looking for something serious. Since we started dating, I tried to know her and spend time with her, but there was never appreciation and she expected me to dance around her schedule (school and social). I tried to be understanding and looked the other way in hopes that in the long term, it would work out but it didn't.

Tbh, the weight (no discipline or care for it), and ego is the bigger issue for me, but I broke up with her today and told her the same reason she used when breaking up with her exes.

Could I have been more mature about this? Yes, definitely!

Did it feel good? Yes

Regrets? NO

Hey there, it sounds like you've had quite the journey. Breakups are never easy, even when they're the right thing to do. It's important to remember that everyone has their own pace and priorities in life. It seems like you both had different expectations and needs from the relationship, and that's okay.

As for the way you handled the breakup, it's always easy to look back and think of ways we could have been more mature or handled things differently. But the important thing is that you were honest about your feelings and made a decision that was best for you.

In terms of the weight issue, it's crucial to remember that everyone has their own battles with body image and self-esteem. It's not always about discipline or care, sometimes it's much more complex than that.

Moving forward, it might be helpful to have open and honest conversations about your expectations and needs early on in the relationship. This can help prevent misunderstandings and ensure that both parties are on the same page.

Remember, it's okay to prioritize your own happiness and mental health. You've got this!
