Live in Westchester or CT for S&T summer analyst position?

Incoming summer analyst at a MM investment bank for sales and trading. My internship will be mostly based in the Greenwich, CT office although I will go down to the city for time to time in the NYC office. I am debating whether or not I should rent a room for the summer in Westchester (Port Chester, White Plains), or in Connecticut. I will have a car for the summer. I am not planning on getting a place in NYC because I want to save money this summer so I graduate with as little student debt as possible. I heard that Connecticut living costs and taxes are quite low - how do they compare Westchester, living costs and NY taxes?

Your best bet is probably living in Stamford CT for your internship. There are tons of young people living there with various living situations that should support your needs. Living in White Plains you'll have to deal with traffic on 287 and then i95 on your commute to the office on a daily basis, which can be hectic. This is all dependent on when you leave/come to the office. Most Stamford apartments support shuttles to and from the train station, which may or may not be helpful to you given you have a car. Short term leasing is going to be expensive in both Stamford and Westchester if you plan to live alone. I've lived in both locations, so if you want to give some more details I can probably provide some more insight.
