Math required for Financial industry?
Gonna have to go through Calc 1, 2 and Linear this year so I was wondering, are there any jobs in finance that even use calculus level of math or higher?
When I say jobs in finance, I'm referring to people who major in finance/business and not something STEM-related. (This excludes quants as they're closer to engineering/CS than finance and require a post-grad degree in a STEM field.)
How much math is required in IB, PE, AM, RE? I'm assuming basic algebra at most and arithmetic at least but then again I'm not in the industry.
Stats are very helpful, both in finance and in life...
Agreed. more stats than anything else in AM. Explaining underperformance is a part of almost every AM job. (Nobody ever has to explain outperformance, they just want you to keep doing whatever you're doing to outperform)
