MSF student in need of advice on my situation

Good evening guys and girls,

So I’ll start from the beginning. I come from a small private D1 undergrad school in a smaller city and had a good gpa graduating (3.51). I graduate with a dual bachelors in finance and economics and didn’t have the job offers I wanted. I decided to do an MSF at BC this year and have been doing well thus far (3.6) . I did it partially in pursuit of higher pay and also to get a more prestigious institution on my resume while also advancing. I recently got a job offer from a more well known organization in the finance space where I would be taking institutional investors questions about the model we have. Basically at the help desk for this company and the first line of contact. The thing is they would want me to start immediately and it is located in the city I am born in which is 6 hours from BC. I believe the position is remote but I would essentially need to cut back from school to handle it all. The pay is lower 40’s. I have really good internships at one of the largest banks in the world and also working with a cfo of a startup. Is this pay too low for me to consider, given the location I’m in? Is it even worth cutting back on school for? Should I tell them I want to finish my degree first? Just need some serious guidance from anyone.

Thanks so much guys

Pay sounds brutal - I would keep looking.

Agreed. This would be a decent part-time gig if you could use the cash but no one who's legit asks you for a school-level commitment with a sub-40K salary. Would focus your time on finding a role you actually want.

Btw worked in two F500 internships while being a full time student in college prior to my banking internship which let to my full-time M&A analyst job out of college
