PayDivvy - try it out

Hey guys, a friend of mine from Wharton recently launched a cool service called PayDivvy which is basically the first and only social bill pay solution. You should all check it out.

Given the ridiculous hours you are already putting into your jobs, don't waste time managing your roommate expenses in spreadsheets or trying to collect from your friends and co-workers from that dinner at Peter Lugar's. PayDivvy offers the only complete bill pay solution, where you can manage, pay and collect for all your personal and group bills. Particularly given the debauchery you may have engaged in over the Memorial Day weekend, don't let your deadbeat friends take advantage by coming down with a case of "alligator arms" (e.g., the guys and girls that can seem to reach their pockets when the bill gets slapped on the table). Give PayDivvy a try.

Seems cool Patrick - this is actually an area I follow really closely, since the first startup I built was in a related field (we handled a lot of payments for groups). How do these guys differentiate from someone like http://wepay.com or http://billmonk.com or http://venmo.com?

Interested in this as well. I use Bill Monk but would consider PayDivvy if I understood better how it differed/was better.

Billmonk is a good service but just for keeping track of interpersonal expenses on a ledger, rather than actually paying those expenses to the provider or individual real-time through the service. With PayDivvy, you don't really need the ledger anymore because the shared expenses are squared away as they are incurred...but the two services do complement one another well. Plus, you can use PayDivvy for your personal bills.

The other services mentioned don’t allow you to actually pay your bills. PayDivvy is the first and only social bill pay solution for individuals and groups. You can view and organize e-bills, pay over 5,000 providers with bank account or credit card, and set it and forget it. Additionally, you can pay as a group and communicate with your group on a Facebook-style wall.

Essentially, PayDivvy offers online bill pay and social payments through a one-stop solution. We do everything the other guys do plus everything your online bank bill pay does…but better! Give it a try and let us know what you think. Thanks!

So many buzzwords! Somewhere in the world a VC guy peed he pants a little (just a little though).

Honestly, this actually sounds like a pretty good idea where the whole "social" aspect is pretty useful. Buzzwords are my absolute least favorite thing about working in a corporate environment (actually that's a lie, I could write a whole book on my least favorite things about working in a corporate environment), but this sounds more legitimately useful than most "social" startups I've heard or read about.

Hi, Eric Stratton, rush chairman, damn glad to meet you.

I was thinking about this..for a while the paypal for groups...also if this is advertised well this will do extremely well. Now going to share it with my boys who owe me money.

The answer to your question is 1) network 2) get involved 3) beef up your resume 4) repeat -happypantsmcgee WSO is not your personal search function.
