Possible to snowbird as an Analyst?

If you work 183 days in Florida, and the rest of the year in NYC can you still take advantage of Florida's tax benefits?

Let's say you don't own any property and your firm has both a NYC and Miami office. Is this possible? Seems like the absolute dream come true for junior folks given snowbirding is usually reserved for ultra wealthy and retirees.

I do not have any insight for you other than it is probably highly frowned upon. I'm sure that there have been "cases" like yours in the past so there is probably precedent legislation if you look more into it.

Secondly why would you choose to be a snowbird; what is the drawing feature for you?

I never understood traveling, it seems so pushed and marketed to us that traveling is this grand thing. In reality it has been marketed at us since the days of the romanticism era and has been ingrained as something that society simply accepts.

Call me a nonconformist but traveling sucks. The only time I would optionally chose to travel is if I am traveling like this guy. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgNqlRGqHdxNRPR6ycynWhw

I agree with you on giving up trying to trick the IRS via snowbirding.

I couldn't disagree more regarding travel but to each his own. Is there nowhere outside of where you live right now that even piques your interest?

Be excellent to each other, and party on, dudes.

Yes - if you spend the majority of working days in Florida rather then New York, you can claim Florida permanent residency and follow tax laws accordingly. There are apps/services to help people solve this specific problem.

I do not know of anyone who does it at the junior level nor do I know if it would make sense. Either you have to have two mediocre places you split time between or you need to move every approximately 6 months.
