Depends the use of the tool (PP or Prezi).

Prezi is good for design/artistic presentations and/or when you're trying to be creative.

Conversely, PP is better for formal presentations (eg: pitch book for iBankers).

Each has an optimal use, they personally make me dizzy lol

I personally hate Prezi. Presentations are supposed to be either simple (like a background for a TED talk) or informational (like a pitch book). In neither instance does one need pretty graphics and those insane zoom animations to get a point across. Unless you're dealing with 8th graders.

That's a pretty naive approach. I used it a lot during my last year at school and got really comfortable with it. (Side note: I checked in randomly the other day and was confused by their changes, so it may be less 'clean' as it used to be.)

Everyone agrees PowerPoint is the professional standard, but for any opportunity to convey information outside of the office, Prezi (when done thoughtfully) is probably going to be a more compelling resource than the standard slideshow.

I am permanently behind on PMs, it's not personal.

Naive my ass; it's not like this is going to be the next big thing in presentation technology and I'm missing out on it.

Let me simplify this: you either want people looking at you or looking at your presentation. Again, the TED talk versus the pitch book. In neither case is Prezi superior to a simple PowerPoint, unless you want pretty effects to make up for a lack of substance. I'm sure Prezi has its niche uses, but for anyone trying to actually deliver a message, it's just an obstruction.

Guess I opened myself up for the "anything goes" evidence presentation. Good thing those are all 3 or 4 years old.

The point stands: Prezi is a niche tool.
