Quiet Keyboard recommendations?
I want to get a quiet keyboard for the office. Any mechanical keyboard people on this forum who have recommendations for what worked for them? I was hoping that someone who is familiar with the long hours could recommend something ergonomic while still being quiet.
Based on the most helpful WSO content, mechanical keyboards can be a tricky choice for the office due to their noise levels. If you're looking for a quiet option, consider the following:
Cherry MX Brown Switches: These are often recommended for a balance between tactile feedback and reduced noise. The Das Keyboard 4 Professional with Cherry MX Brown switches was mentioned as a potential option.
Avoid Flashy Designs: Ensure the keyboard doesn't have flashy lights or overly loud switches, as these can be distracting in a professional setting.
Logitech K840: This keyboard has been highlighted as a solid, quiet option that works well in office environments.
However, some WSO users advise against bringing your own keyboard as an intern, as it might come across as trying too hard to optimize performance. If you're set on bringing one, make sure it aligns with the office culture and doesn't draw unnecessary attention.

Corsair K70 works great for me.
I use the Logitech MX Keys S in the office and the MX Quiet Mechanical keyboard at home. I would definitely recommend the first one for office use along with one of Logitech's quiet mouses (I use M650L).
Something from Keychron that comes barebones (no switches) and is hot-swappable (can install your own after-market switches by just pressing them in, no soldering). Buy silent switches and your preferred keycaps elsewhere. Takes 15 minutes to install switches and caps. High quality quiet office keyboard for 100-150 all-in.
