Real Estate in Chicago

Monkeys,

I'm looking to buy a condo in Chicago within the next 5-8 months. Anyone been through the process fairly recently and can help with suggesting areas to stay away from (market peak) or areas to target.

Any thoughts would be awesome. Thanks!

Yep, I just sold my condo in River North last year. My wife is a real estate agent and has been working with a fellow colleague find a 2 bed/2 bath condo over the past month, so I've seen the market from both sides of the table recently.

In general, I would say a lot of it depends on property type (high-rise, flat, etc.) and holding period. I think places in some of the up-and-coming areas (Logan Square, Ravenswood, Lincoln Square, etc.) are looking pretty frothy.
