Los Angeles. Will be 2 bed / 2 bath.

Are you making a similar salary? Trying to decide if this is excessive with wanting to save and ultimately buy my own spot vs me being cheap.

$4500/mo, combined income w/ partner is around $350K. Nets to just under $60K/yr total. For the 350 split, $250 of that is my income and $100 is hers, so we split it around 2/3 usually or so, give or take depending on the month. I'm not juiced about paying a brand new high-trim BMW per year living someplace that I'm not building equity at, but we're planning to buy a house after we get married. It may be a little on the high side, but I think your number is pretty good... is it a 1br?

It's honestly about what you prioritize. We love our building and its amenities, so we chose to splurge a little on rent and save on other things that folks may own. As long as you're not breaking your back in it, I don't see an issue.

OP:

Assuming your bonus is pretty much locked in, I think this is fair. I paid roughly the same when I was making the much. I have always taken the approach of living where I want to live and even over-allocating to my home if I needed to. Ultimately it is up to you, but if the bonus is near guaranteed, I think you’re fine.

Is that the camping fee at Venice Beach?
