So much for Wall Street Never Dies

Sent from my Brother,

"Very interesting short article from the NYTimes about the tragedy of American business today. Throughout the 1700-1800s in most European states, the "gentlemen" class (upper middle class) considered most forms of corporate business with disdain - in other words, the blind pursuit of money and profit was not exactly a worthy way to characterize one's life. Although this widespread sentiment was largely the result of a collision of societal ideologies between the industrial revolution with that of the disappearing (landed) aristocratic classes (1500-1700s), one cannot help but admire the haughtiness of these old British (mostly) gentlemen. I believe that the next 20 years or so may see a resurgence, albeit a bastardized one, of a widespread societal distaste for the blind pursuit of profit."

Take a look at the if you're interested take a gander and post your thoughts.

I truly wonder why someone would search and reply to a dead thread.
