Retarded. As a an Asian American, this parenting style only works with insecure kids and even then, they only 'thrive' (and only on paper) while still under their helicopter parents' hawk eyes.
Destroys self-confidence and raises kids with a huge chip on their shoulder, dependent on their parents to think for them. Once they're out of their mom's shade and direction, everything falls apart. I've seen it with so many Asian Americans.

I used to but I've gotten over it. She tried her best and raised me the way she thought best. Can't blame her for trying. Your life's your own. If you dislike something about yourself, change it.
If you look at Confucian based societies, it makes sense why tiger moms think their way is the best way. That's what worked.
