Spotify Playlists for Grinding
Post your favorite Spotify playlists for grinding throughout the day that make modeling and putting together backups a little more bearable.
At the moment I am utterly sick of the playlists that I have and am curious what everyone else jams to throughout the day.
Cheers.
STS9 Radio
I've got two techno sets that can get me through any two hours of the day:
Would love to find some amazing trance sets if anyone got the good stuff out there.
Completely forgot about ASOT, these are always fantastic
Christian Pheng used to have a massive set of trance playlists titled "Gods Trance #" - many of them have been pulled down but there are still a couple of. Have been my go to for years.
Already ripped threw a few of these this morning. Thank you sirrrrrr
That BBC Essential Mix brings back some nostalgia for me. 2010 - 2013, college days., and fully getting in to the EDM phase. SHM, Dirty South, Eric Prydz, Above & Beyond, Pendulum, Ferry Corsten.. I need to dig some of these up.
The state of trance is just amazing to be honest.
Holy shit nostalgia. That was my go to for half a decade of late nights.
Jesus
All Out 80s 90s Rock Renaissance Stoner / Desert Rock John Coltrane Radio All of those seem to get me in a good flow to rock out any work I need to do
.
When I wear out Facelift and Dirt, there's always Jar of Flies and Unplugged to help me switch gears. Tripod or Sap if I'm in a deep tracks kind of mood.
Heartfeldt Radio (Sam Feldt)
Purified Radio (Nora en Pure)
Best two for grinding -- do HF for more upbeat tropical/deep and NeP for more downtempo house w less lyrics
Second Heartfeldt
Amityville (Eminem) on repeat for 10 hours. Thank me later.
Smooth jazz
70s Road Trip
I usually have Ibiza Sonica up in the background at all times Regular channel plays everything house/chill/techno, Pioneer DJ radio usually has tech house, there is a futuristic trance/DnB channel, Sonicaclub plays techno, and Blue Marlin Ibiza radio plays really good house sets https://ibizasonica.com/
Great Spotify lists guys
am i the only one who can't model while listening to music...?
I stopped listening to music while working pretty early into my first internship and started listening to podcasts. Much rather save music for when I'm really feeling it and learn shit & hear interesting conversations while I work. I'm so into podcasts now though that I listen to them almost any time I'm not talking with someone. So like 10+ hours a day. Only really listen to music while working out and during like... designated leisurely times. Like smoking weed or cooking with my wife or whatever.
Could you recommend types of / specific podcasts you've really enjoyed over the years when you get some free time? Would be much appreciated.
Depends what you're into. I listen to a lot of fitness/health and real estate stuff. Some other good ones: Joe Rogan We The People Live Ari Shaffir Aubrey Marcus Cleared Hot Colin's Last Stand Common Sense Conversations With Tyler Hardcore History Featured Voices Freakonomics Here's The Thing (Alec Baldwin) History on Fire How I Built This Impact Theory Invisibilia Jocko Podcast Keep Hammering Let's Know Things Money For The Rest of Us Onnit Planet Money Radiolab Sex With Emily Shameless Sex Star Talk Radio Ted Radio Hour Art of Manliness Joey Diaz The Failure Factor The Forward The Indicator Jordan Peterson Kevin Rose Rubin Report Tim Ferris Tom Woods Show Wealth Formula Tribe of Mentors Travelogue Up First (NPR) Waking Up (Sam Harris)
How do you focus on a podcast and your work at once? I'm great with podcasts while eating breakfast (I used to do this during my leisurely college breakfasts all the time), but I can't listen to, say, a news podcast and work at the same time. My brain is exhausted by the end of the podcast and I end up missing the details of people's arguments.
I don't know, man. Either my work is easier than yours or I can multitask better than you can. Or some combination of those two. Those are my theories.
For those looking to block out noise but that find music a bit too distracting, check out alpha waves. Solid middle ground imo, and worth a try for sure. Probably not for everyone, but I'd say they're more bearable than good old fashioned white noise.
For Spotify users the most comprehensive playlist is "Alpha Waves" by alphawaves(official)
Can swear by alpha waves. Helped me get through a bunch of loud ass lab sessions for the last 3 semester of college. Drowns out noise, not too harsh on the ears, no lyrics to get you distracted.
I love listening to Lofi Mix's, usually mixed with Shiloh. Focus for hours with it!
Axwell's weekend weapons always has good stuff on there for the people into house
Discover Weekly has been on point for me. Usually gets me through the week and helps me find songs to add to my own playlists.
Deep House Relax. Almost no words and rhythmic so good white noise

I really got into this playlist after I saw it on an IG ad

I find Nicky Romero's protocol set gets me in the zone while modeling. Check out his Protocol Miami 2017 set on youtube
I did not think this thread was going to be about music to listen to while at work.
I have a pretty fucking nerdy side so I enjoy the Halo (videogame) and Lord of the Rings soundtracks. Also, the "Peaceful Piano" playlist on Spotify is good. Occasionally I will listen to something with lyrics like a 90's pop rock throwback.
SoundCloud - Big Bootie Mix, Volumes 1-13
You can thank me later
This.

I'm in between the people that say they can't listen to music and those that can't work without it. I need something in the background but more to drown out the people's voices around me. Like I can't work with the "variety" of noises in an office, but I can work with a consistent noise in my headphones. Does that make sense?
So, my MO is to find a song that I like and put it on endless repeat and just listen to that as I work and keep it really low in my over-the-ear headphones (and I have some really nice headphones). Some songs on my iTunes have, literally, hundreds of plays because I'll just listen to the same song all day. Right now I'm alternating between Heathens by twentyone pilots and Epic by Faith No More. Sometimes I'll also do some Thievery Corporation to mix it up, but again, it's more about a consistent noise to drown out the other noise. It's weird, I know, but it works for me.
The No Sleep mixes by Odesza are a go-to for me, they’re a good mix between upbeat / entertaining music without being distracting. Each mix is ~45 minutes and the songs pretty seamlessly switch from one to another which makes it easier to focus than having a playlist with completely switching songs every 3-4 minutes

Wal-Mart Yodeling Kid (Gucci Mane Remix) - best motivational soundtrack

This dude puts together some great progressive house mixes that are perfect for working.
No words (except for a couple mixes), good, upbeat pacing, very nice melodies.
