Staying Skin Healthy at a Sweatshop
Incoming at a known sweatshop, and was wondering if there's any tips on being able to keep healthy and keep your skin looking healthy. Working 90+ hour weeks I imagine is not the best for your skin; so does anyone have any recommendations for skincare advice?
eat clean and get a skincare routine
Refrain from alcohol, drink orange juice daily and clean skin with liquid gel before bed
Orange juice isn’t really that great for you. It’s better to just eat oranges so you get the fiber and not shots of sugar.
limit oily foods, full skincare routine at least 3 days a week:
- double cleanse (oil & water based cleanser)
- toner
- hydrating serum
- moisturizer (splurge on this)
- eye cream
- sunscreen
If only there was a movie where a guy in IB goes through his entire skincare routine in elaborate detail
South Korean skincare products, do your research and thank me later
Korean or Japanese sunscreen for sure.
Active ingredients in many of these are one or more generations ahead of anything widely approved in most of the world due to unusual regulatory circumstances.
Also recommend a retinol or prescription retinoid.
I live in the American Gardens building on West 81st street. My name is Patrick Bateman. I'm 27 years old. I believe in taking care of myself, and a balanced diet and a rigorous exercise routine. In the morning, if my face is a little puffy, I'll put on an ice pack while doing my stomach crunches. I can do a thousand now. After I remove the ice pack, I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower, I use a water activated gel cleanser. Then a honey almond body scrub. And on the face, an exfoliating gel scrub. Then apply an herb mint facial mask, which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an aftershave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion. There is an idea of a Patrick Bateman, some kind of abstraction, but there is no real me. Only an entity, something illusory. And though I can hide my cold gaze, and you can shake my hand and feel flesh gripping yours and maybe you can even sense our life styles are probably comparable, I simply am not there.
skincare has largely been covered, i would recommend a few supps as well
turmeric, great for anti anging especially stressed induced, which you will have no lack of
collagen supp for skin
omega 3, reduce oily food intake if using this as another commenter mentioned
probiotic/other gut health to avoid breakouts, also will help if you're a chronic coffee/energy drink person
all taken by my mom who spent almost 20 years in bb+restructuring ib, still gets comments on glowing skin and looking younger than her age(is asian tho which is a cheatcode here)

Hydrate. Avocados. Almonds.
Here is the thing, skincare is mostly hormones and genetics.
But...idiots guide is wash your face twice a day, morning. Use Kiel's blue face wash and ultra moisturizer(which is surprising light).
Shave at NIGHT. Prevents ingrown hairs, I use Kiel's shaving cream, a badger hair brush, also exfoliate before applying shaving cream. Then facewash, then use art of shaving sandalwood after shave lotion, and kiels for rest of face.
Get as much sleep as you can, I'm old but also get breakouts when i don't wash face and am stressed.
not sure if you meant to leave a comment
I know one, but not sure she is taking new patients. Dina Anderson

Dealt with acne, Accutane all that for 5-6 years
My tips:
-Wash face with water morning and night no expectations
-Try to use a sauna 4x a week
-Clean pillow cases at least biweekly
-Refrain from consuming too much sugar (or whatever are your main triggers, mine is sugar)
-Shave regularly
-Get hydrocollid patches for stubborn pimples
-Minimal alcohol
This is what helped me maintain a clear face after Accutane, hope it helps, but everyone’s different
I mean....it's 90% the accutane. Those are some magic pills
Retinol
Everyone has their own perspective on skin care for me what’s worked is the following.
- gentle cleanser
- moisturiser (doesn’t need to be expensive)
- vitamin c (would splurge on a good one)
- retinol (would splurge on a good one)
- spf 50+ (doesn’t need to be expensive just make sure it’s a broad spectrum formulation)
Most importantly healthy diet, lots of water and minimal sugar/alcohol.
Note: I don’t have sensitive skin nor suffer from breakouts. Everyone’s skin is different and hence not all routines/products will work for everyone.
