Yea, its plot twists are something that keeps me on the show. Mid-season break was probably just to build demand for the following episodes, kind of strategic of AMC, I guess

overpaid_overworkedI realize this sells me out as a geek, but the comics (sorry, graphic novels) go for 70+ issues. If you really need a fix you can track them down pretty easy.

Hahhaha. I was going to post this.

Definitely pointless when it comes to following the show, since the AMC scripts have taken many detours from the original story. I mean, the whole scene with the Governor and Maggie, totally off.

Not that, you know, I'm singling out that part for any reason. lol.

Yeah, I never expected the show to follow the story directly, but a little closer would be better. The comics get really dark around the time they meet the governor. I was going to talk about some of the differences, but realized I'd get cussed out for spoiling. That said, there are some parts coming up that I'm interested to see if AMC has the stomach to put on TV.

anyone want to make me a market on Merl giving up his life for his brother, vindicating his wicked ways?

NB I haven't read the comics and am not putting any spoilers as I only know whats happened up until the last episode.....sorry Merl, you shouldn't have threatened Glenn!

I don't know if I want to because I assume they might not be doing the show in the same order as the books, ie they may have saved some plot devices for later

I started watching the show in the fall of 2012 beginning with the most recent season. I must have been one of the few people not impressed. Zombie movies are great, but I've never really seen a writer explore the long-term effects of dealing with the collapse of society. What I found is that it's boring. The show just seems to drag on and on. The zombies are super weak and easy to kill and are basically only a nominal part of the plot now.

If you're willing to embrace your inner geek and want to see an author explore the collapse of society, try 'Y: The Last Man on Earth'. Basically, all but one man on earth are killed and it follows his trials and tribulations in a female dominated post apocalyptic world.

There had been talk of making this a movie, but a) its a big damn storyline, and b) they were saying Shia Leboeuf, so I'm glad it didn't get done.
