Using an iPad to take notes?
Would it be unprofessional to use an IPad to take notes (writing in the iPad not typing) instead of using pen and paper? People in the office mainly use pen and paper but I feel like I would much rather prefer an IPad because it allows me to do quick calculations and makes my terrible handwriting legible.
I genuinely don’t understand why anyone would care

For using an ipad to take notes? If you genuinely care about that you aren't busy enough.
Based on the most helpful WSO content, using an iPad for note-taking can be a great tool, especially if it helps with legibility and quick calculations. However, it's important to consider the office culture. If most people in your office use pen and paper, it might be worth observing how others perceive technology use in meetings or discussions.
One user shared that they used an iPad with a keyboard for communication and note-taking, and it worked well for them, even in professional settings. Another tip from WSO threads suggests that perception is reality—so as long as your iPad use is efficient, professional, and doesn't come across as distracting, it should be fine. Just ensure you're not seen as disengaged or overly reliant on tech, especially in a traditional office environment.

iPad to take notes? Way too advanced for me. I use a black slate and piece of chalk for notes and an abacus for calculations.
What material is your abacus made out of? Mine is obsidian

No one would care. I use the Remarkable2 just for less distractions and it is easier on my eyes.
Do you find you consistently use it? And are you able to transfer the notes to another device ie does it transcribe your handwriting into text?
My main priority was having a repository for everything and not 20 spirals scattered about. It has nice integrations with windows, and can convert my awful handwriting to text. It’s a bit pricey for just a writing tablet, but I like it.
No one cares. In fact, some people will be grateful that you're be able to take comprehensive notes that you can quickly recall from your files or even share via email. I attempted to use my iPad to handwrite notes but found it slowed me down. Now I type notes on the magic keyboard. For some reason, people find it less anti-social vs. having your laptop out on the meeting table. Only thing you need to ensure is that you're not typing too loud
