Was my ex a red flag?

Hey wso-members, I (19m/non native english speaking/college sophomore) went through a hard break up with my gf from high school of 2.5 years. As we had many good memories, my rational thinking abitlity about the situation is non-existant right now.

Was she a red flag or is that normal girls behaviour in 2023?

  • texting/snapping other guys

  • screenshotting body pics of other guys

  • going to the club/parties without me

  • posting bikini pics/thirst traps on ig

  • dressing slutty in public

  • critisizing my clothes/hair style

  • bragging about guys hitting on her

etc...

Tell me that I dodged a bullet so that I can focus on the things that really matter (up-coming exams, cf internship in march)

I am totally lost right now bc she was my first gf

THX

This is a precious life lesson and it is good to get it early on.

My HS gf (also from my country) cheated on me in college (in the US) under some pretty terrible circumstances. There were a lot of red flags that I ignored early on as I was too naive. And growing up in a stable household kind of programs you to hold on and make it work.

I was heartbroken then but after some time I am glad it happened. I think such experiences are necessary early on and they teach you what sort of partner you require in life.

I don't want to judge a woman (but yeah she's for the streets like the guy above said). Let her do her shit, you gotta move on. She's not compatible with you. Keep grinding and don't date seriously until you're older. You'll know when the right one hits you. You won't need to go searching for one.

Her behavior does not sound good my guy. Girls sometimes flaunt other guys in your face when you’re in the talking stage and they want to date you to make you jealous. But if you’re in a stable mature relationship then there’s no need for this competition and it really sounds like she’s insecure and worried she might lose you. All it takes for you is to go out, have fun, and you’ll meet the right one sooner than you think

In all honesty you are so unfathomably likely to marry your HS girlfriend that you should chalk it up to a lesson.

I’ve had three serious girlfriends in the past. Had the full range of sweetness, craziness, love, and hate from all three at various points. Those relationships lasted between 2 and 4 years starting in high school. Now single and not looking for anything because I’m just so exhausted from being in ‘boyfriend mode’ during college. The last thing I want in my 20s in NYC is a committed relationship. I used to crave the comfort of companionship, romance, dates / trips, and regular sex. Not that you can live without it completely but it’s good sometimes to focus on living life and not chasing women. It’s a little painful to tally up what I spent on those girls but I try not to think about it.

A Lambo can’t suck your dick but it won’t leave you in the middle of the night or threaten to defame and sue you.

She wasn't your GF.  You might've called her that, and she might've called herself that (sometimes).  But saying it doesn't make it true.  That's all single girl behavior.  And not even all single girls do that, just the ones from the 304 area code.

Def for the streets. U shoulda just smashed and dipped, she seems hot but not the relationship type. Was she like this the entire 2.5 years or only when things started to fall apart? If the former, then that’s ur fault for putting yourself in that situation.
