I'm looking forward to traveling a lot more. I know that it's a cliche answer, but I'm still in my early 20's and would like to dedicate some time to go to interesting places. Also buying my parents a house, I want to try and do it before 30, 35 at the latest. In the short term though, I'm just enjoying my senior year and excited about building a new PC in the next year or so.
A not very philosophical answer - money. I fucking love money and am excited to have the opportunity to make a lot of it.
A more sophisticated answer - Growing up and becoming a father / building a family. Unfortunately, a lot of people in my family had died when I was younger so I never had a huge family like many other people did, and while I don't like to compare my life to someone else's, I would've definitely loved to have a more extensive and closer family. So I am incredibly excited to begin a family and watch the things materialize the way that I want them to, like having a really connected family, etc.
This is something I've struggled with a bit myself, I've always been jealous of those larger families that seem so close-knit. Every family has its own struggles, but it would be nice to have something like that.
It definitely is tough seeing a ton of big, super close knit families with extended member - and then not having that. I've always wanted to have that through my life so I am going to try and create it. I guess the way I look at it is that I have the opportunity to create the change I want and be the rock for a big family. Although my kids might not have grandparents or a ton of aunts and uncles, I can at least make the best family with the opportunity I've been given
Yeah if you always do what you say you’re going to do, it makes things a lot easier.
Arnold is great to listen to when it comes to motivation. Some people find it cheesy, but I listen every now and then to help pull myself out of a rut.
I never go back on my word! That's my nindo, my ninja way!
“2 things in life I won’t break - my word and my walls.” iykyk
I'm looking forward to becoming financially independent in my 30's (early 40's worst case) so I can leave the corporate world forever and pursue my dreams.
When I become rich, famous and powerful
Already have the girl and the travel. Guess its money for me. And kids, hopefully more than 3
Damn lmao. Ppl rlly hate u on here
It's fragility, because they don't want to hear the truth about COVID
Just had my first kid, a son, and it's been the most exciting thing that has ever happened to me. I thought everyone saying it would be life changing is bullshit, but it's not.
Now I'm just panicked about how I'm going to make enough to give the little guy the life he deserves, while actually being there for every moment so he knows what I look like.
My dad never missed one of our games, events, performances, whatever. We weren't the most well off, and there was a lot of struggle, but I'll never forget seeing him (and my mom, but she wasn't employed) at everything and how much it meant to me.
It's been a weird feeling of uncertainty, needed to vent a bit -- but to answer your question, spending time with my wife and kid and watching him grow up.
Congrats man. Truly a life changing experience that I look forward to experiencing
The uncomfortable truth is that these are competing priorities (unless you get paid to spend time with your own kids, which ... I'm not even sure what that would be).
I'm not saying that these goals are mutually exclusive. You'll make choices about trade-offs, just like everyone else, and you might decide that not being there for everything but for most things because you have additional responsibility at work is worth it for the pay bump and what that represents for your son's quality of life. You might decide just the opposite. Or you may decide that in the short-term, it may be worth it to miss lots of family time, because it gives you a pathway later on to have both a high income and the flexibility to spend time with your family.
If I had it all figured out I'd tell you the answer. I don't. My best advice is to listen to yourself and your family - it doesn't matter what someone else does for their job or how much money someone else needs to be happy or how much time someone else needs with their family to feel fulfilled. They're not you. You do the math so the equation balances the way you need it to, not how it should balance for anyone else.
Thank you, that is helpful to hear.
Dyson Sphere, but I'm not gonna be able to witness that in my lifetime.
Looking forward to being able to live wherever I want again + a bit of travel before kids.
Crushing my enemies, seeing them driven before me, and hearing the lamentations of their women
learn to live in the moment.
"This is water"

Coaching Girls Softball
Sending my 5 kids to college.
Travelling North America in my RV with my wife when I retire.
Building my two businesses (and hopefully selling one)
Smiling more.
Helping out young people more.
Sound like a standout guy.
The usual: hundreds of grandchildren, utter domination of known space, and the pleasure of hearing that all my enemies have died in terrible, highly improbable accidents that cannot be connected to me.
...
This is why you didn't make it into PE. (I'm just joking, let's be civil)
I'm pretty excited to stabilize. By this I mean: I think schooling and early career is kind of like a game where we're building our skills up to the point we can really start playing. The optionality of what my friends and I can do to enrich ourselves (not necessarily just monetarily but spiritually, experiences, etc.) as a result of our upfront effort is going to be very exciting.
See this is what I am struggling with right now. Probably just the burnout curve that is holding me back but looking at how much more I have to go till I feel comfortable downshifting is a little scary.
"I'm excited about dating 19 year olds and having 11 kids with them"

My current girlfriend is over 21.
She’s 22
I recently purchased an E92 M3, and I look forward to modifying the absolute fuck out of it.
So awesome.
Looking forward to nothing because reaching a milestone is just a temporary high for me. I focus on the path and try not to think too hard where it is taking me.
So you’re excited about the journey.
I'm loving the present, and am excited to see what comes next, whatever that may be
Just setting goals and reaching them. Celebrating the little victories, spending time with friends and family, creating wonderful memories. Making a positive change in the world before my time comes - not sure in what form this will manifest itself, but I've got time to figure it out, and I'm just going to enjoy the journey until then.
I use to say money but i have that now... then travel but i do that too...
now its just the time to sit anywhere i want and do nothing.... have a cup of coffee or tea and just relax
Take a trip to Bora Bora with some friends
I read Tora Bora at first lol
I really want a G63. That’s the only materialistic thing I want in life. Once I have that the rest of the things I look forward to don’t require needing money (g wagon money)
I’m excited about reading all the books I want to read, but I’m pretty sure I won’t finish them before I die unless I can upload my mind to a machine or something.
Quitting when my bonus hits
Moving to Japan where the age of consent is 13.
BONK yeah so nationally that may be true but for each city and prefecture there is a separate older age of consent
One of the things I am looking forward these days is learning cryptocurrency. my brother will drop by on Saturday to share his knowledge about this digital asset. He always leaves me impressed by how much he has made with it. That makes me want to learn about it too. Checkout learncrypto. com where I learn cryptocurrency
I am really looking forward to continuing to learn the guitar. I've had time lately to play my Schecter more and I'm committed this time to be methodical and learn the theory, scales, and chords. Not just riffs.
Definitely a billion dollars. By a mile. And a half.
traveling to far off lands and seeing cool natural phenomenon like the northern lights or the tigers nest in Bhutan.
Really into history and walking the beaches of Normandy reliving D-Day for example are things that give me chills.
So many things on my list as well. Not sure If I have time with Banking. Yikes.
Dying
Yeah, I’m excited about eternal life too.
finish pledging
Long term - One day to actually have the time/flexibility to backpack through more of Europe, South America, and SE Asia. Literally only thing I care about saving for.
Short term - Next month I'm going to a huge college football game/tailgate to get FACED w the boys.
What about girls? Don’t wanna spend time with em ?
Kinda talking to one rn that could turn into something. Funny that they come at junctures in my life where I'm happiest/focusing on myself.
I recently graduated high school and have been busting my ass on two jobs trying to save up for college on my gap year. Decided to reapply to better schools than the one I deferred from so I could have a better shot in banking. I’m doing everything in power to get into banking, and am excited to see how it turns out. If I work hard enough to make into banking, make it through banking, I will finally have saved enough money to be generous with myself and my family. I’m excited, and nervous, to see whether or not I can do it.
Don't forget about enjoying your youth, king.
I have been thinking a lot about this idea but I get worried I won’t achieve my goals so I believe should work hard until I do. Doesn’t it make sense to work hard while your body/health is in its prime anyways?
Other than the whole making a fuckton on WS while embracing hedonism, I hope to explore myself more spiritually and understand different notions of religion and the afterlife more.
Wife is pregnant with #3. I finally have an appreciation for how to take some time to enjoy and soak in family time and plan on doing so.
Congrats. Wish you the best of luck with the third. Does it get easier?
Definitely not between 1 and 2, but I've been told going from 2 to 3 is much less difficult.
Death is what I'm most excited about.
I'm excited right now about saving some money and setting myself up financially for the future. Pretty lame answer but the median salary where I grew up was like $25k, so I feel rich already and want to take advantage of it. Longer term financial goals involve buying rentals in my hometown since its very cheap with good cash flows and use that stream to help my parents be set hopefully a bit earlier than traditional retirement age. Think I should have my retirement nest egg ("coast fire") set up after ~2 years of IB to leave to somewhere cheaper too. Non financial goals is to travel more at some point now that the issue is more about the time rather than the money and to focus more on relationships after too. Being a first year analyst isn't the most "exciting" time but hopefully there'll be some delayed gratification by helping me get closer to my other goals.
tripping total ballsacks with my gf tonight
howd it go
Pretty dope had that 1-2 hours of party before an insane few hours of unreal lucidity - felt like a therapy session on steroids, everything just came out with no shame no judgement, could really see some things clearly. Looked at the stars too was pretty good. Didnt fuck though was talking too much for that
Shits my fav everyone should do it more world would be a better place

Taking a nap when I get home and then going to the gym later. It's the simple things.
