What do you think of when you hear Financial Freedom?

Just from reading, watching financial news, and listening to podcasts, I hear a lot of people throwing out the term "financial freedom". Just seems like someone people keep throwing out there so it also loses meaning.

In my head, I tend to think about this as being maybe free from debt, not being totally able to retire but you don't have to make decisions based strictly on money. Is this how others view it, or do you see it more as something that toes the line of a passive income stream? In reality, I guess we all can't be financially free?
