“In the 1970’s, one of the big names on Wall Street stood apart: Goldman Sachs. Gus Levy, the firm’s managing partner, was asked what made the culture so special. “At Goldman Sachs,” Levy responded, “we’re greedy, but we’re long-term greedy.”

NWM - For all those that just can't quite cut it in the world of proper finance but still want to say they're in finance...

I'm not sure if this fits your list, but for me it's simple - douchebags. No, I don't mean guys who occasionally get snippy on the jobs, expect performance, so they may be kind of a dick sometimes. Everyone in this field fits that profile to an extent. Hell, I get a little bit snippy at times when shit doesn't get done.

I'm talking about douchebags who make finance their entire fucking personality. I understand working long hours, dedicating your time and passion to the financial world, all that shit - if it's your cup of tea, then I'm all for it. But I can't tell you how many privileged, entitled, my-daddy-is-an-MD fuckwits I've encountered over my many years. Pure arrogance for 'accomplishments' that are in no way their own, flexing their watches, cars, apartments, everything.

I have a nice car and live in a nice apartment. I wear nice clothes. But I won't ever bring it up to you unless you directly ask. This new age of clout-chased-based flexing isn't any more frequent than it was when I was entering the field (before TikTok, the social media influx, etc.) but social media has made it so much more widespread. Sometimes I just encounter the most disrespectful and cocky person ever, and just have to remind myself that it's not worth it to argue with an idiot.

Oh well, that's my rant. Sorry if I derailed your question. I'm absolutely ROCKETING off this Adderall right now and wasting time at work!

Wonder if he'll find love on Bumble.

Probably not:

He's 100% an asshole, but he was mainly imprisoned because he was fucking with bigger pharma players and his own investors. He wasn't actually fucking over the little guy with his price hikes, he made it clear that people who couldn't afford it and their insurance wouldn't cover the difference could contact him directly to get it for free. Most of the time when media makes someone out to be the villain in our industry, it's not nearly as bad as you think.
