I have a confession to make. I am a Kickstarter addict. To me Kickstarter embodies everything that is simple and beautiful about the free market. If you have a good idea and can deliver, you get funded. If not, you don't. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.
Some great ideas have come out of there as well. It seems to have become the de facto launchpad for new video games, where designers are able to defray all or most of the cost of game development. Likewise, it's starting to take off for the rag trade. I recently got in on the 10-Year Hoodie and thought I was pretty cool, but this latest garment innovation might blow that one away.
Wool&Prince is absolutely crushing their Kickstarter goal so far with The Better Button-Down, a wool shirt that reportedly only needs to be laundered every 100 wears. You read that right. 100 wears. As in, buy four of them and you're only doing shirt laundry once a year.
The shirts are a hundred bucks apiece and they're really decent looking. You could even get away with wearing the Oxford to work. Like, 100 days in a row.
But won't they stink? Apparently not, if you believe the creator. Evidently wool is naturally stink-resistant. Just ask any sheep.
All joking aside, the shirts are guaranteed for life, which is something I'm seeing more and more of on Kickstarter. If you rip it or find a defect or even if a button pops off, just send it in and they'll fix it and send it back to you.
For an added bonus, if you really want to be one with your shirt you can kick in an additional $5,000 and the company will ship you to a lamb roast on an Oregon farm (where you can presumably consume the lamb from whence your shirt came thereby guaranteeing no one else will have your unique wool blend).
So what do you guys think? How many days would you go between washings? If this thing really doesn't wrinkle and only needs to be washed every couple months, these guys are gonna be billionaires. I know I'm buying one just to check it out. Who's with me?

LOL. Agree there's something kinda hinky about putting a dirty shirt back on the hanger. I'm actually more interested in this for the shirt's durability, which has to be amazing if these claims are even half true. There's nothing worse than spending $80 on a shirt you really like and then having it fall apart before you know it.
This is disgusting. I don't even like the concept of not washing suit pants in the summer after every time I wear them, but I give in because I don't want to wear out the suit.

Yes. But is has nothing to do with your shirt.
That's pretty good discipline. I can only go like 2-3 times before it's too wrinkled or I get something on it. And f off if you suggest ironing it myself because I will iron your face before I iron another shirt.
Usually do the same unless I somehow stain the shirt. I like to use a steamer on the shirts between washing/dry cleaning as well
I was looking to buy one of those. How much did you spend and does it work well? I sometimes just lock my shirt in the bathroom and run the water steaming hot for 20 minutes or so and it'll get the wrinkles out. I assume this is more efficient..
This. If you don't have a steamer, you re missing out. I go 2-3 wears without washing for whites, and 5-8 wears on darker tones.
And I get my gf to steam my clothes everyday.

I would wear it. I mean you spend the whole day in air conditioned room and go to your car which is also air conditioned. No sweat no wrinkle nothing, this is brilliant.
I don't know if 100 seems legit, but I think for a solid 5 (?) with an undershirt.

I picked up one too - now in the market for a steamer.
I have one of my grandfathers old shirts and it's blue, wrinkle free, oxford styled, and surprisingly made by Arrow. Never a tear or wrinkle, and has lasted a couple decades. I'm hoping this is of similar quality.

Last I checked, sheep smell like shit, just like any other animal.
Interested to see if this truly works the way they say it does. However, the probability that an owner would stain the shirt prior to day 100 is very high, so even if it's stink-resistant, I'd bet no one with normal use would make it anywhere close to 100 days prior to having to wash it.

I wear smartwool boxers, which are meant for multi-day hiking trips, and supposedly won't get stinky if you wear them for multiple days. I've never tested it outside of 2-3 day camping trips, where I don't change, but they seem to work. I wear them daily because they are super comfortable and never bunch. Unfortunately, they're very expensive.
I've seen a lot of lifetime guarantees on various kickstarter companies. The problem is, they aren't established companies. the lifetime guarantee can be a matter of the lifetime of the company, not your lifetime. If the company goes under a year after you buy the product, your "lifetime" guarantee is a one year guarantee.
I'd buy it. Doing laundry is for suckers.
