In case you missed them, here're some of last week's most popular topics:

The All-Nighter Experiment: What Worked and What Didn't
Post By @Alistair-Clark"

"I need this done by tomorrow morning but don't spend too much time on it. I don't want you to be here all night." That's what my MD said to me before I pulled my first all-nighter. I've had many all-nighters since then, but you will always remember your first. The sun was rising when I sent out the updated analysis. All I got in return for my hard work was, "Thx, I'll look at this later today." ... I almost quit on the spot.

On Campus Recruitment and Networking: A guide
Post By @playtheman"

For all those currently undergoing On Campus Recruitment, being a great network-ER is key. First impressions last and you need to leave a lasting impression on bankers. I have noticed that many aspiring students come to the info sessions failing to network effectively. Some students the most awkward conversations and ask the weirdest questions. So I am going to list out some networking "moves" that have worked for me:

Deaf Looking to Break In
Post By @ParkAveCapital"

While I am working to break in, I am also writing a "how to break into an industry" guide for Deaf people. I will cover topics such as how to network as a Deaf person, what to say in interviews and the types of things candidates would need to overcome and how to deal with them. Frankly, there is virtually no brutally honest guidance for Deaf people to be successful. Your advice and thoughts will be helpful for many other Deaf people and me!

Corporate Development Manager - Q&A
Post By @marine13910"

I transitioned from Big 4 Audit to Transaction Services (M&A Due Diligence) before moving to corporate development. Happy to help anyone making career transitions, especially if you are transitioning from a Big 4. Currently, I am interviewing at two PE firms. Also, LinkedIn is an amazing resource which can bring jobs right to your doorstep.

AMA - I'm a muni banker
Post By @guyfromct"

I completed my BS in biology at a non-target before moving to MM healthcare coverage/M&A, and subsequently taking up a generalist role at a boutique IB. Then, I did my Masters of Management at a target school before transitioning to a boutique Biotech/Pharma strategy consulting firm as a strategy analyst. I am now an associate at the IB/capital markets arm of a municipal commercial bank. Open to almost any questions...

Winning at a Loser's Game? Control, Synergy and the ABInBev/SABMiller Merger
Post By @Aswath Damodaran"

I made the bulk of my money early in my holding life. However, Amber has remained in my portfolio as a place holder that provides me exposure to both the beverage business and Latin America, while delivering mostly positive returns. While it is possible to create value from acquisitions, I have argued that creating growth through acquisitions is difficult and doubly so when the target is a large public company.

Hedge Fund Priest?
Post By @Banquero"

Here is a priest who started a hedge fund three years ago. His record has been positive, cough* cough* bull market cough*. Do you guys feel that you can be in a position to manage a fund after reading a couple of books? Apparently, he does and the thing I will give the man is that he was able to raise capital. However, most of his money comes from his congregation, which can end badly his leveraged fund doesn't have any way to hedge his loses and he feels the wrath of the market gods.

Post By @mattgunner25"

I just saw this across my news stream. It looks like 9,000 will be FT and rather immediate. Not sure what groups will get hit the hardest. $6.6b loss in third quarter...
