Breaking into PR

After doing my due diligence the best way to break into PE seems to be business school, internships, networking. But as an economics major, what are the ways to break into PE (and possibly what are the best ways i.e. lateral movements like valuations-> PE?) Also, what higher levels of education are the most helpful (CFA, Masters of Finance, MBA?)

Cheers
