Can’t sleep from work stress

Most nights that I have the luxury of being able to be in bed for 6-7 hours (once or twice a week if I’m lucky), I can never actually sleep because my mind is constantly thinking about work tasks/meetings I have the following day. Does this happen to anyone else? Feel like a zombie these days.

Anyone have any suggestions/recommendations?

I keep a journal next to my bed. If I think about something work related, I write it down, and then it leaves my head. I do this for ~10 minutes and usually I exhaust everything at that point. You would be surprised how long you ruminate about so few topics and so if you can tick through those topics quickly and put them on paper, your mind can push them out and you can feel safe to fall asleep given you can come back to them in the morning in your notepad. Try this for two weeks before writing it off (no pun intended). Good luck.
