Earliest you can quit before joining new PE firm
Signed on-cycle last year to join a UMM this summer and was wondering what is the earliest it’s acceptable to quit? Offer letter said the expected start date was around August 15th

I mean maybe there are other UMMs with an August 15th start date but if it was the one I was at then I'd bail if I could find any other MM-MF job depending on how bad you care about the H/S placement

Think March is leaning towards unacceptably early.. most people do May/June
Can you please explain why it is such a bad look / why it is looked down upon? I don't understand how that plays a factor with your new PE job.

People at bank would get bonuses in march and quit in may before 2021
I changed my mind I think you should quit and enjoy the spring / summer. Pretty much the last chance you’ll have to live carefree until you do an MBA or effectively retire.
