Incoming IB SA Interested in VC/ Growth Equity

Im currently a sophomore in undergrad recently accepted an IB offer for summer 2023 that will probably turn into full time.. Based on the knowledge I have now I plan to either 1) stay in banking or 2) do VC or growth equity. Since I am done with recruiting I wanted to really use this time to learn more about the venture capital and growth equity space as I won’t be able to do so when I am swamped with the banking role. I wanted to ask those of you who are in VC or have an interest in VC and GE how did you learn more about the space and ultimately land a role in the field? Is there anything particular that I should do rather than the normal networking calls, internship, etc. Should I be in a particular coverage/sector group that would better my chances with VC/GE recruitment? I want to expand my knowledge and experience in the space as well as best set myself up for recruitment. Overall just wanna hear general experiences from people who exited into VC/GE
