LMM / MM consumer funds?

Are there any well-known LMM / MM consumer funds that may be possible to network into outside of a traditional IB headhunter route? Have past experience in both IB and strategic finance and would be really interested in pursuing investing opportunities within consumer, particularly food and beverage. I recently came across a listing from Encore Consumer Capital and noticed a few of their team members had other post-IB experience before switching to PE. Similarly interested in a VMG type fund though that one is larger. Interested in learning more about funds like these in the East Coast (New York / Boston) area.

I'm sick of hearing people ask about "nEtWoRkInG iNtO" funds. Do what I did, walk straight up into the head office and ask for the MD by name. Give him the resume, say you're in town for a week and expect a call back. Tailor each approach for each firm, you don't have to be aggressive, just really, truly confident. It will impress them, believe me, even if they don't let it on. And don't worry about any bitch ass banker that gets all fussy about "doing things the right way" and his menstrual recruiting cycles. If he screams or laughs at you, he can take himself and his merry little band of retards and shove them up his ass. Self selects the firms that aren't worth working at anyway.
