Megafund Asso 1 Comp (PE vs RE)
Have anecdotally heard that total comp for associate 1 in REPE is ~$250-$275k vs typical PE total comp of~$325k-$350k at the same firm. Can anyone confirm this? Why are the total comps so different for the strategies? Data points for REPE especially would be helpful.

If you're considering a role in either strategy, it's essential to weigh not just the comp but also the career trajectory, work-life balance, and personal interest in the asset class.

Confirmed same comp at my MF
Comp the same across RE and PE at my MF
Comp 315+ for Aso 1 at $10B AUM+ REPE shop
Was quoted mid-high $200k for TC ($250-$275k) 1st year associate. This is RE credit though for top 5 MF. Believe PE is getting into the $300s here. Feels like I’m getting screwed.
Do you work the same hours?
Yes. Could argue even more. Figures it comes down to group performance but can’t imagine the delta is that large for the associate level comp. Perhaps I’m wrong though
That’s way below market. What does “top 5” MF mean?
Essentially KKR/BX/APO. Figured it was below. Was hard to peg where REPE / RE Credit market comp is though.
This is probably BX. APO and KKR pay the same below VP / principal level. You should find another role that pays closer to market.
