I don't understand how these guys make money. They have over 200 employees (including non investment professionals) with ~$5B of total AUM. That doesn't make sense to me.
According to their team page, they only have 86 employees across all offices and positions, including Administrative Assistants.

This seems pretty typical in firms of this size and strategy
Investment team is small (10 excl associates) and paid out of fund economics. The significant majority of the remaining headcount sits within Motive Create, which is the value creation team (developers, GTM advisors, etc.). They aren't paid from fund economics but from separate contractual arrangements with clients. The $5B of AUM is only supporting a fraction of the headcount.
