PE Junior Level Comp Progression
Found the below comp info online and wanted to validate if this is what you guys are seeing in the market. Seems to be a pretty wide range; would assume the UMM/MF are all on the high end here.
1st Year Associate
- Base: $135k – $155k
- Bonus: $140k – $230k
- TC: $275k – $385k
2nd Year Associate
- Base: $160k – $180k
- Bonus: $170k – $270k
- TC: $330k – $450k
3rd Year Associate
- Base: $180k – $200k
- Bonus: $180k – $300k
- TC: $360k – $500k
Senior Associate
- Base: $200k – $220k
- Bonus: $210k – $390k
- TC: $410k – $610k
Vice President (VP)
- Base: $230k – $260k
- Bonus: $340k – $520k
- TC: $570k – $780k
At a lmm fund but base and bonus bump 10k each per year (20k total), from as1-as3. Senior associate comp is 50k bump from as3, again split even base/bonus. Vp I’m unclear on, but presumably another 50k bump from senior associate.
The low end seems too high for LMM/MM at least for early associate years.
Really, I would think bonus might be a little high, but seem like a 200K-250K all in is going rate at most LMM PE funds now. maybe under 200K if your WLB is significantly better.
I agree with you on 200-250k all in for LMM/MM. OP's post made it sound like the high end of his numbers are UMM/MF so the low end would be LMM/MM. I was referring to 275k TC as being high for a "low end."
