Switch to Corp PE?

1st year analyst at a top 10-15 PERE firm right now, summer analyst stint was at family office and previous SA was also in RE related industries. Realizing that I find corp pe/traditional pe much more interesting than REPE and want to know what best paths to corp pe may be? Considering lateraling ASAP into IB, but what other options are there to make the switch? Seems like a off-cycle switch for associate 1 into corp PE is essentially impossible. Wouldn't want to take a role at a start-up/smaller corp pe job. Also difficult for me to consider switches because comp is a factor and current comp seems to be in line with top bucket IB analyst 1, I know second years took home 110 + 70-90% for bonus this past year.
